SWEEP's debut release. The purple and yellow five-track EP
was released by Centrevibe Productions in November 1996.

The EP is a collection of some great electronic pop tunes made
up of the band's first song material. The CD was only printed in
1000 copies so the EP is getting hard to get hold of, but the
band still has a few copies left for selling at their gigs.

SAUNA CD #2 (Sauna Magazine)

A compilation album released by the Sauna Magazine. SWEEP
contributed to this CD with their most popular song from the EP,
"Tonight".

ELECTROCITY Vol.11 (Ausfahrt Rec.)

On this Vol.11 in Ausfahrt's well known Electrocity compilation,
the song "Tonight" was chosen once again for the tracklist.

SWEEP were very happy to participate on this compilation, and
it gave them the opportunity to reach the German audience as
well as the rest of Europe.

UNTITLED TOO - SWEEP Remix (Tatra Productions)

The guys were asked to do a remix of Apoptygma Berzerk, and
suggested to do the short 2 minute track featured on the "Soli
Deo Gloria" album. The result was a wonderful Commodore64
inspired remix, which can be found on Apop's Mourn EP.

The vocals were re-recorded and re-arranged in X-ray Studios
by Jon Erik Martinsen, Vegard Blomberg, Pål E. Johannessen,
and Stephan Groth.

SEX;...GOTH;...ELECTRONICS;... (Tatra Records)

This 2 CD album is the follow-up the the rather legendary "Sex,
drugs & EBM" compilation, released by Tatra Productions way
back in the nineties. SWEEP contributes with the song "Run
Hide", which they later gave the name "Emptiness, Your
Loneliness".

OSLO SYNTHFESTIVAL 2000 (Oslo Synthfestival)

Oslo Synthfestival was arranged for the first time in 1999. A truly
great initiative to gather the whole Norwegian synth/goth scene,
for a night of concerts and happenings. In the festival's second
year, the arrangers decided to release a compilation album
with the participating bands.

SWEEP's track on the album is a demo version of "Leaving Now",
a previously unreleased song, which is still played live sometimes.

HEROINE - SWEEP Remix (Tatra Records)

This is a quite strange and unexpected affair... When SWEEP was
asked by their friends in the band VIEW to do a remix of their great
"Heroine" song they wanted the guys to do a remix of it that would
sound as far away from the original as possible. And so be it :-)

The remix is a clean techno version of the original song, and a bit
inspired by one of Jon Erik's favourite techno artists, BIOSPHERE,
with it's intricate drum programming and cold sound.

KINETIC ART (Kinetic Response Records)

A compilation album from the Canadian label Kinetic Response and
Larry Berteotti. SWEEP contributes with another of their songs from
the demo they made the previous year, "Agoraphobia".

VERY INTROSPECTIVE, ACTUALLY (Dancing Ferret Discs)

When asked by their good friend from DFD, Patrick Rodgers to do
a cover version of The Pet Shop Boys for this tribute compilation,
the guys were absolutely delighted. PSB has been a favourite
band of theirs for a long time. The song of coice was PSB's
classic 80's single "Love Comes Quickly".

According to DFD, SWEEP's version of the song has been very well
recieved in the US. Among many great bands on the CD is also their
friends from Fredrikstad, ICON OF COIL, which did a version of "New
York City Boy".

SHADOWDANCING - 2nd Movement (A Different Drum)

ADD's continuation of this great compilation series has grown to
a 3 CD collection with over 60 tracks of fine synth/goth/darkwave
music. SWEEP contributes with the "Agoraphobia" song.

SKULK - SWEEP Remix (A Different Drum)

The labelmates ECHO IMAGE and SWEEP finally got the chance to
do a remix of eachothers work. SWEEP came up with a great remix
of ECHO's "Skulk". The guys always try to preserve as much of the
original material as possible when doing remixes, and still give the
song a whole new sound, heavily SWEEP spiced.

This remix is perhaps one of SWEEP's own favourites. It starts off
pretty laidback, and then evolves into smooth pumping mix with
strings arrangements, horns and orchestral percussion.

EMPTINESS, YOUR LONELINESS (A Different Drum)

SWEEP's debut single on A Different Drum. The single contains a
new mix of "Emptiness, your loneliness", and some great remixes
of the song by ECHO IMAGE and SYSTEM 22's Cody Williams.

The single also contains a brand new track by SWEEP. They've
called it "Favourite Song", and it's a catchy pop song in the best
SWEEP tradition.

SYNTHPOP MEGAMIX Promotion only - Not for sale (Various labels)

This compilation album is a collaboration between A Different Drum,
Plastiq Musiq, 11th Records, Ninth Wave Records, Border Blue and
Synthphony Records.

It is mixed by Herby Kojima and features 30 tracks of swinging
danceable synthpop. The Echo Image remix of "Emptiness Your
Loneliness" is one of the many great tracks on the CD.

STRANGE LOVE 5 (Orkus Magazine)

A compilation album released by Orkus Magazine. Lots of great
bands on this album, and SWEEP contributes with their classic
"Emptiness, Your Loneliness" original version.

SYNTHETIK WONDERLAND (SPN / Pink Gorilla Records)

This excellent compilation were put together by Dan Koven and
Mark, and released on the newly formed label Pink Gorilla Records.
SWEEP contributed with a new remix of "In Your Eyes", 2001 MGR
Mix. The remix became one of the most popular from SWEEP to date.

The whole 2001 MGR Mix is still available for download at our
AUDIO page.

MISS YOU (A Different Drum)

SWEEP's second single on ADD. The title track is quite different
from the previous single as it is a much more laidback song, and
this time the guys wanted to play the bassline live using electric
bass. The drumtrack were also programmed with a more "live"
feel to it. "Miss You" is a beautiful song, and

Also featured on the single are two great remixes of the title track
(Walking On Air Mix and SkyLab Mix) and a new remix of their
popular "In Your Eyes" song (2002 Mix).

SYNTHPOP CLUB ANTHEMS (A Different Drum)

A Different Drum has released a lot of wonderful compilations
through the years, and this CD with 15 tracks of great high
energy synthpop songs is destined to get you moving on
the dancefloor.

ADD chose the catchy Echo Image remix of "Emptiness, Your
Loneliness" for this compilation.

SERIAL KILLER ELECTRONICS (Tatra Records)

Another great compilation album from Tatra Records, once again
showcasing some of the very best artists and bands from the
Norwegian electronic music scene.

SWEEP contributes with the song "Last Train To Paris", one of the
tracks from the "Two Players" album.

SYNTHPOP FOR A DARKENED ROOM (A Different Drum)

The title of this compilation album must be one of the best ever..
Fifteen moody songs for those thoughtful dreamy moments "un
solitaire", or in the company of your beloved.

SWEEP contributes with their song "Miss You".

ATROPHY - SWEEP Remix

SWEEP were asked by the band Cesium137 to do a remix of their
song "Atrophy". SWEEP were just finished with their album and
welcomed the chance to do something quite different.

The original is a slightly heavy but melodic track, and SWEEP
did an uptempo and very danceable version. Great mix!

TWO PLAYERS (A Different Drum)

At last, the long awaited "Two Players" album is released!
